Partner Terms

These are the plain-English terms of the UAE Expat Will partner programme. They are meant to be readable, so if anything is unclear, just ask us.
1. What the programme is
The UAE Expat Will partner programme is a referral partnership. You introduce people to our document preparation service for UAE civil wills. We are a technology platform, not a law firm, and we do not give legal advice. Partners are independent, so this is not an employment, agency or joint-venture arrangement.
2. You are responsible for your own position
You confirm that you are permitted to take part in this programme and to receive referral payments under it, and that doing so does not breach any employment contract, engagement terms, regulatory obligation or internal policy that applies to you. Getting any permission you need is your responsibility, not ours. You are also responsible for any tax you owe on payments you receive, and for your own VAT position if VAT applies to you.
3. Whether you sign as a person or a company
You may register either as an individual or on behalf of a company.
(a) If you register as an individual, you are the partner, referrals are attributed to you, and commission is payable to you.
(b) If you register on behalf of a company, the company is the partner, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company to this agreement, referrals are attributed to the company, and commission is payable to the company. Where individuals within the company refer clients, they do so as representatives of the company and acquire no personal entitlement to commission under this agreement.
4. Your referral link
You earn a referral commission, currently 10% of the amount actually paid on each completed will attributed to your link. Founding Partners (our first ten) earn a flat AED 250 for each household that completes and pays, fixed for the life of the partnership. A couple who each make a will counts as one household, so the flat fee is paid once. A small number of partners are on a bespoke flat fee instead. If that is you, your agreement states the amount.
5. What your clients get
People who arrive through your link receive a discount at checkout. That is currently 10% for referral partners, or 15% where the partner has chosen to waive their fee. We may change the discount from time to time and will tell you before we do.
6. What you earn
You earn a referral commission, currently 10% of the amount actually paid on each completed will attributed to your link. A couple who each make a will counts as one household, so where a fee is paid per household it is paid once. A small number of partners are on a bespoke fee instead. If that is you, your agreement states the amount.
Commission on wills paid in a calendar month is settled by the last working day of the second following month. A will paid in April settles by the end of June. We hold settlements under AED 500 and roll them into the next month.
If a will is refunded, charged back or otherwise reversed at any point, the fee is not earned. If we have already paid it, we offset it against your next settlement, or invoice it where no further settlement is due.
Fee-free partners earn no commission by design, their clients receive a larger discount instead.
7. How attribution works
Attribution happens through your referral link and a cookie stored on the visitor's device. If a visitor clears their cookies, uses a different device, or arrives later through someone else's link, we may not be able to attribute the will to you. We record attribution in good faith and our records are the reference point for settlement.
8. How you represent us
Please do not misrepresent UAE Expat Will, describe us as a law firm, or present our service as legal advice. Please do not bid on our brand terms in paid search. All marketing must comply with UAE advertising and marketing rules, including any advertiser or media permit that applies to how you promote. We provide approved marketing materials, including copy and assets carrying your referral link, that you are welcome to use. If you are required to disclose that you receive a referral fee, making that disclosure is your responsibility.
9. Our responsibility, and yours
We are responsible for our own platform and service. We are not responsible for anything you say or do independently when promoting or referring, including any advice you give your clients, any representation you make about us that we did not provide in writing, or any way you use your referral link that breaks these terms. Our total liability to you under this partnership is limited to the referral payments due to you at the time the issue arises.
If we suffer a loss, claim or cost because you broke these terms, misrepresented us or our service, presented us as a law firm or as giving legal advice, or because of advice or services you provided to your own clients, you agree to cover that loss. This does not apply to losses caused by our own breach or negligence.
10. Genuine introductions
Fees are for introducing other people. Wills bought by you, your staff or connected companies through your own link do not earn a fee, though the discount still applies.
11. Ending the arrangement
Either of us can end the arrangement at any time with written notice. Any fees you have already accrued will still be paid out in the next monthly settlement.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will give you notice when we do. Continuing to use your referral link after that notice means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
All matters concerning these terms, including any disputes or claims arising from them (whether contractual or non-contractual), are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Any legal action, suit or proceeding arising from or related to these terms shall be brought exclusively before the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. However, the Company reserves the right to bring proceedings against you for any breach of these terms in your place of residence or any other relevant jurisdiction. By taking part in the programme you consent to the jurisdiction of these courts and waive any objection to the exercise of jurisdiction or venue in them.
